AGENDA:
2:00pm - 2:05pm: Welcome and Introduction
2:05pm - 3:05pm: Presentation by Rob Slade – (ISC)2 CISSP
Rob Slade is an independent infosec consultant. He has a Masters degree and the CISSP. He is president of the Vancouver security SIG
Rob has been teaching CBK seminars for (ISC)2 pretty much since he got the cert, so has all the marketing bumpf down pat. However, don't worry, he'll spend most of the time telling you why that *doesn't* mean he is an (ISC)2 employee. If you promise not to tell anyone, he'll even tell you about the exam he proctored, as long as you can answer the skill testing question. (Having a seminar instructor proctor an exam is a violation of which security model, and which international standard?)
3:05pm - 3:20pm: Bio-Break / networking
3:20pm - 4:00pm : Presentation by Mian Khurrum
Mian Khurrum has been working in information security for more than 10 years and has worked for a University, an Oil company, and works for a financial institution at present. He has taught courses on system administration, networking and security and has mentored SANS courses. He holds a number of SANS certifications
He will be comparing different certifications and their pros and cons. For the record, he is not a SANS employee and nothing he will say is endorsed by SANS in any way, shape or form.
